Dead Lock is coming soon. I promise you.

Dead Lock is an action/thriller set in Sault Ste. Marie during WWII. If the Germans take out the Locks, U.S. war production will shut down all across the country. To say that consequences will be catastrophic is an understatement.

We recently visited the Soo for some last minute fact-checking. You'll find photos of the trip here on the site. We'll have updates on publishing Dead Lock as they happen.

Meanwhile, if you haven't read Freeze Frame, you'll find the first chapters here. I think you'll find the action moves fast, and you'll probably want to visit your local bookstore for a copy, or visit Amazon.com or barnesandnoble.com to order it over the Internet.

At the conclusion of Freeze Frame, you'll discover the first couple of chapters from Dead Lock. Read 'em and remember to look for the book coming sometime this year.

Hey, thanks for visiting my Web site. Now, look around, and then shoot me an email. Tell me what you think.

FREEZE FRAME
B. David Warner brings an intimate knowledge of the advertising industry to Freeze Frame. He has been in the driver's seat of advertising for products from cars to candy bars, and is thus no stranger to the world of fiction. Having worked in the past for Ross Roy, Burton Sohigian, Campbell Ewald and Sarris & Associates, Warner is now Creative Director at a medium-sized Detroit-area advertising agency. He is at home in virtually every medium from novels and television to radio, print, outdoor and direct mail. He is even more at home in Clarkston, Michigan, where he lives with his wife, Marlene, and their daughters Andi and Margi. Warner is a graduate of Michigan State University, where he majored in advertising and journalism. He decided on advertising as a career because, he says, "I was too nervous to steal."

THE NORTH WOODS
Northern Michigan has been my second home for as long as I can remember. Camping with my family at Otsego State Park, visiting the Hawes' at their Otsego Lake vacation home, touring the U.P. to see Taquamenon Falls, the Soo Locks and the courthouse where they filmed Anatomy of a Murder.

And finally, as a senior in high school, spending summer days at my parent's cottage near Gaylord. The cottage now owned by my sister's family and mine.

I've grown to love the feel of pine needles and sandy soil beneath my bare feet. Of campfires at lake side, staring up into a sky so filled with stars that they seem to blend together.

This is the north country I love so much that I had to set part of my first novel there.
